Darlene and David Straarup are the owners of La Lucy Thrift and Boutique. Darlene is a retired social worker who had a sister by the name of Lucy. Lucy had Downs Syndrome but was the smile that lit a room whenever she'd walk into it. Darlene and David had the joy of looking after her in the later years of her life when Lucy bravely faced all the aches and pains in her failing body. Lucy LOVED thrifting...and would go into all sorts of thrift shops and inevitably arm-loads of treasures would come home from each one. Lucy died peacefully on September 16, 2007 at the age of 57. On September 17, 2010 La Lucy Thrift and Boutique was born.
